Keeping Your Business Hours Updated


Following the recent update from Google My Business on 08/01/ 2016, which announced that  your business introduction and description will no longer be editable from the Google My Business dashboard, Google now is making it mandatory that you use the new spreadsheet format when updating your business hours in bulk, or if you are using the Google My Business Dashboard interface, you must do this in list view. 

So what does this mean for you?

For business that are not open full time, or require to be closed for certain events, training or holidays, you may now edit your hours in advance.

In order to this, you need to make sure that you are viewing   your business locations in list view:

DashboardClick the icon to change the current grid view to list view

Find the location you wish to edit

Find Location

You will see your normal business hours followed by special hours:

Special Hours

Special Hours

If you need to place any special hours for your business, your regular business hours will not be affected. Use the special hours for events, holidays or anything else that may cause you change your regular hours.

When updating bulk locations, Google My Business has provided an excel spreadsheet template to help guide you through the process.  You can download the template on the Import Locations Page
